Michael “Dr. Woody” Woodward, PhD is a CEC certified professional coach trained in the field of organizational psychology. As a consultant and professional coach, Dr. Woody works with both private and corporate clients on career development and building management/leadership capacity. As an author and speaker, Dr. Woody focuses on the psychology of career engagement in the New Economy and how to make the transition from “player” to “coach” in the business world.
Dr. Woody started DrWoody.com to address work-life issues and the notion of career entrepreneurialism in the New Economy. As part of this endeavour, Dr. Woody published his first book The YOU Plan: A 5-step Guide to Taking Charge of Your Career in the New Economy (2nd edition out 5/2012) and he also writes a regular column for FoxBusiness.com.
Dr. Woody is the founder and president of Miami-based consulting firm Human Capital Integrated (HCI). The firm focuses on management and leadership development. Dr. Woody also sits on the Academic Advisory Board for the Florida International University Center for Leadership.
Prior to founding the consulting firm HCI in 2005, Dr. Woody served as a management and human resources consultant for PricewaterhouseCoopers Consulting (PwC) and as a project manager for IBM Business Consulting Services in Washington DC. During this time Dr. Woody worked with such clients as:

Dr. Woody has appeared on the Bravo Network’s Tabatha’s Salon Takeover as a guest expert working with Tabatha and her team. Dr. Woody has also appeared on WNBC-4 New York, WGN Midday Chicago, KCAL-9 Los Angeles, CBS-4 Miami, PIX-11 New York, Focus on South Florida, and FOX-5 Los Vegas.
Dr. Woody appears every Tuesday on Fox News Live with host Jamie Colby and writes a weekly Monday column for FoxBusiness.com called “The Career Hot Seat”. He has been quoted in the Wall Street Journal, Miami Herald, Monster Hot Jobs, and South Florida Sun Sentinal as an expert on career re-engagement. From 2007 to 2009 Dr. Woody wrote a regular column for Go Jobing magazine on issues around hiring and coaching. Dr. Woody has also published award wining research on teamwork titled Cooperation and Competition: The Effects of Team Entrainment and Reward Structure (Woodward et al, 2005).
Education
Dr. Woody received a bachelor’s degree in psychology from the University of Miami, a Master’s degree in industrial and organizational psychology from Springfield College, and a PhD in industrial and organizational psychology from Florida International University (FIU).
